  • Day 1 / 7

    Day 1: Arrive In Oslo

    Welcome to Norway! You will be met at the airport by your local guide and enjoy a city tour of Oslo: a vibrant, cosmopolitan city. Located at the tip of the beautiful Oslofjord, Oslo is filled with historic sights, wonderful museums, stunning parks and an abundance of restaurants serving a variety of cuisine.

  • Day 2 / 7

    Day 2: Oslo

    Day two is at leisure to explore the city of Oslo on your own using your Oslo Pass. The Oslo Pass gives you free entry to museums and activities, free public transport, and discounts on sightseeing, restaurants, and shopping.

    Visit the Nobel Peace Prize museum or the new Edvard Munch museum, exclusively featuring works by the famous artist of “The Scream.” Stroll the pedestrian street, Karl Johans gate, through the heart of the city; learn about Norway’s maritime history at the Maritime Museum; see Thor Heyerdahl’s Kon-Tiki raft; or learn about the arctic exploration ship, Fram. 

    Oslo has several Christmas markets from mid-November through December. Depending on when you visit, you can enjoy Christmas markets and take in the festive atmosphere of the city.

    Highlights (optional): Ice skating in the city center, cross-country or downhill skiing just outside the city.

  • Day 3 / 7

    Day 3: Oslo - Lillehammer

    Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Your rail journey will take you to the town of Lillehammer, located on the shore of Norway’s largest lake, Mjøsa. The region is known for its amazing ski and winter facilities, as the 1994 Winter Olympics was held here. This picturesque region is one of the largest farming areas of Norway, with farms situated on the mountain slopes!

  • Day 4 / 7

    Day 4: Lillehammer

    Enjoy breakfast in your hotel. Today is open to experience Lillehammer at your own pace. Visit Maihaugen’s open-air museum, where history comes alive, and experience the Olympic Park and Museum. The Lillehammer Art Museum’s collection consists of around 1,500 works of art that, from different perspectives, tell Norway’s art history from the 19th century to the present day. Lillehammer is a great town to explore on foot, including the pedestrian street, Storgata, lined with shops, restaurants and cafes. 

    Highlights (optional): Go downhill skiing on the Olympic slopes, try a dogsled adventure or go snowshoeing or ice skating.

  • Day 5 / 7

    Day 5: Lillehammer - Trondheim

    Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Continue your rail journey through the Gudbrandsdal valley, past stunning mountains and plateaus of Dovrefjell National Park, and further to the historic city of Trondheim. Trondheim is Norway’s original capital and third largest city. History and modern-day coexist, with the majestic Nidaros Cathedral and historic wooden warehouses along the river, and the progressive Trondheim University of Science and Technology nearby!

  • Day 6 / 7

    Day 6: Trondheim

    After breakfast at the hotel, meet your local guide for a city tour, including the impressive Nidaros Cathedral and the Old City Bridge. This afternoon, we recommend taking an aquavit or beer tasting tour. You can also visit the unique Open Air Museum of Sverresborg. You’ll absolutely want to explore the culinary scene!
