Your hand-blown glass item needs to cool overnight, so you can pick it up in the morning before you drive northward, along Lake Vättern to the town of Gränna, known for the red and white Polkagris candy, a peppermint candy stick. Sweden’s capital, Stockholm, is situated on 14 islands, so you are never far from the water. You may see kayaks in the city’s waterways, or someone fishing from the shore. Don’t miss Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s Old Town, with cobblestone streets, beautifully preserved buildings, cafes, restaurants, and shops. Explore on your own, or join a tour or activity.
